About Loewen
Four Decades. One Standard.
We build forestry equipment the way it should be built — heavy, reliable, and backed by people who understand what it means to work in the bush.
Our Story
Built from the Ground Up in Canada
Loewen Forestry Equipment Manufacturing was founded in British Columbia in the early 1980s by Aldin Loewen, a man with deep roots in the logging industry. The founding principle was simple: build the equipment you'd want to run yourself — equipment that starts in the cold, holds up in the mud, and doesn't leave you stranded three hours from the nearest town.
Over four decades, that principle has never changed. We've grown from a small fabrication shop to a full-scale manufacturing operation, but every piece of equipment that leaves our facility is still held to the same standard: built tough, built right, built to last.
Today, Loewen's forestry equipment is working in logging operations across Canada and the United States. Our customers are contractors who run hard seasons and can't afford downtime — and they keep coming back because our equipment earns it.
What We Stand For
The Loewen Standard
Built to Perform
Every piece of equipment is engineered for production-rate performance in real logging conditions — not ideal ones. We design for the worst day, not the best.
Serviceability First
Equipment that can't be serviced in the field is a liability. We design for access, with common components and straightforward maintenance that keeps your crew moving.
Canadian-Built Quality
Our forestry equipment is manufactured in Canada using Canadian steel and skilled tradespeople. That's not a marketing line — it's a commitment to quality we can stand behind.
Long-Term Partnership
We're not just selling equipment. We're entering a long-term relationship with your operation — parts availability, technical support, and standing behind our equipment for the long haul.
How We Build
Precision Manufacturing. No Shortcuts.
Our manufacturing facility in British Columbia houses full fabrication, machining, and assembly capabilities under one roof. Every structural weld is inspected. Every hydraulic system is pressure-tested. Every machine is run before it ships.
We use high-strength Canadian steel and we source drivetrain and hydraulic components from proven industrial suppliers. When a part wears out in the field, it's a standard component — not a proprietary item that takes six weeks to arrive.
"We build the equipment we'd want to run ourselves."
— ALDIN Loewen, Founder
